Susan Harness is a writer, a lecturer, a cultural anthropologist, oral historian and transracial adoptee. She has researched adoption through the lens of cultural anthropology and identity. Susan's presentation gives a brief historical survey of the western concept of adoption from Hammurabi's Code through the Baby Scoop era. In contrast, she shares about different cultural concepts of adoption and addresses the impact of adoption on adoptee ethnic/cultural identity development and belonging.
